Ok, this photo represents "Tranquil" in a pretty stereotypical fashion (though maybe a calmer sky would have been better - oh well, I like this version), so my creativity here is in something other than my representation-
This whole scene is 100% artificial - the background is a photo on my computer monitor, the 'tree' is a trimmed branch of a Noble fir (about 1" high), the 'lake' is aluminum foil smeared with chapstick, and the 'land' is a sock. The reflection in the 'lake' is from a handheld flashlight
The reflection should have matched the apparent position of the moon, but my aluminum foil wasn't flat enough for that to work - the reflection just got out of control. So I settled for it being in a funny spot but having a nice shape. The 'lake' should also have been more reflective; I'd have used a mirror, but I don't own one that I could use that way.
What with Christmas and all, I don't think I'll have time for another shoot, but I'd do it differently if there were a next time.
If the fakery is obvious, I think this image will bomb. If it doesn't, maybe it will do reasonably well. In any case, I think it will be interesting for me to see peoples' reactions to it, and perhaps also interesting for people to find out afterwards what it is they are looking at!

Nice depiction of the user name. I like the moonlit color you chose. Not sure about that spot of blurred light in the forground. I wonder what it would look like if it were cloned out. Hmmmm
I love the single tree and the wisped clouds. Very pretty. |

I like the shot and I like the tones... the minimalistic aspect of it is very good and the overall mood adds to the shots valor <--- that's a million dollar word but idk what it means.
