thanks keith, my first pick would've been 'Trapped' Here but back then i didn't know how to post process properly, so i didn't know to duplicate a photo, so that IS the original...
thanks heaps again...

I knew this was a roadrunner number. I recall looking at your website and if I'm not mistaken there are a few shots of this gorgeous girl in your portfolio.......Aside from the fact those socks looks distinctly Australian! A heartfelt congratulations on the Top 10 finish. A truly amazing feat given the calibre of photography that I have seen in this challenge. Hope you're proud. Nic.

This sucks.

Just kiddin' K; it's super duper! It is Dorothy, though.

Superb lighting, subtle burning, lovely use of colour. I like the low viewpoint. Overall, a very strong photo, with good mood and emotion, that I rate highly.......is this Roadrunner?

I like everything about your image, but it's those sneakers that keep drawing my eyes away from more interesting points of your photo. All I can think of is Ronald McDonald's shoes - or maybe it's the striped socks.

I like the use of D&B for its dramatic effect in the image - though I do wish I could see the girl's face a little better.

looks pretty heavily manipulated to me, but an interesting shot nonetheless

Cool surreal colours! The shoes are a bit too bright compared to the face. It seems to me you used a lot of dodge- and burning, so you might have lighted up tha face a bit. 9.

Freakin cool man. The color and tones are fantastic. Very good.

I really like this but to me the colors in the bg and brightness in the sky takes my eye away from the subject.

A real sense of teenage troubles here. Great detail, lighting and DOF.

Very nice --- the shoes, the socks, the jacket, her expression. I'd like to see her mouth and it may be dodged a bit heavily along the left side of her face, but that's just being picky. The clouds and the light give an eerie sense of foreboding... almost a Wizard of Oz feel.

the colors and lighting draw one's eyes down to the shoes...but the subject seems to have an intruiging expression on her face....just can't see it too well

Excellent composition! Beautiful job with the post processing...the colors and tones are just right and perfectly enhance the mood that you've conveyed so well in this image. An inspired depiction of pre-adolescent angst, underscored by your very fitting title. A top pick from me!

the dramatic angle and dramatic sky overshadows the performance of your model, thereby making the photo seem staged. Of course it IS staged, but it shouldn't SEEM that way.
  Photographer found comment helpful.
01/16/2006 11:12:17 PM
Stunning. Love the look. My only question is why is the sky in the distance in color when the rest of it isn't?
  Photographer found comment helpful.
01/16/2006 07:22:52 PM
Beautyful shot and very expressive.I really would like to know how did you endup with this nice colors?!It's only dodge&burn or there is more to it?

Dorothy realized that her converse all stars were not ruby slippers, and if she tapped them together, she would not end up at home, but back in gym class.

She looks so distraught, i love it. Most of us "artistic" folks can relate to this image, as we tend to stand out from the crowd. You just want to give her a hug and tell her "its ok, your unique and thats great!"
