Outtake for the Shapes II challenge. I spent hours trying to get some good snowflake macros, but it was too warm. The delicate flakes were either broken or partially melted, so I couldn't get the structure detail I wanted and gave up. :-(

This one was still kinda' cool because it looks like I caught it in flight. It's actually on a piece of glass with blue paper underneath. Shot with the kit lens coupled to a reversed 50mm f/1.8 and lit by a 580ex flash.
