This is a really nice shot. What I particularly like is the use of light here. Its got a great feel based upon the moody light that seems to be lamped but mimics warm daylight or candle light.
It also has an honesty as it is not particularly flattering but more real, and that is a plus artistically.

How Sevil???
How has everybody not seen this?
Is there images on this site that I have not seen that come close to this?
I wish I had not seen it and was seeing it again for the first time.

The Ballerina

I make my body art.
I make my body lines
and fine French words.
I make my body lives
and terrible deaths.
I make my body not a body
but a story.

My body is not me.
My body speaks
but I am silent to you
and my heart
is in the dressing room.

Tone, Shapes, Colors, Crop, everything comes together here so well. One of the most creative portfolios I have seen. The variety is very impressive. I will be back to see more.

I remember this shot and still love it! The (your) body position is amazing and the simple yet perfect use of the thirds is wonderful! I hope you score well!

Cool image, I think that not showing her face may enhance this image, instead of focusing on her emotion, we see the beuty in the form and movement. Cool lighting, great job.

I think I would preferred this in black and white. Very cool composition.

I love this, I think it is one of my favs for this challenge. Good use of post processing that has not killed the photo. So cool.

It just bothers me a little, that you made the choice of not including her head, sorry about that.

This is a creative way of framing/cropping your image. I like the pose of the legs, but the arms seem much too static, they don't fir the grace of the rest of the image.
I think this would have been much better as a B/W image. (That would also have removed the colour noise on the legs.) 9.

Clever mix of the depersonalising and the humanising. The body position is awkward yet graceful. The processing adds to the outlandish mood. Good work

I liked this in the folio, and still like this here. The crop is definitely punchy and eerie and the color toning is very nice. A very evocative image, and quite an eye to grab it. Some moire on the skin, and that's the only reason this isn't a 10 for me right now. Could be my screen, though, but I'd guess this was also fairly high iso. 9. That you B?

nice contortion. I'm not keen on the yellow/green lighting, but that's a personal thing. Nice composition, the shadows work, and it's a pretty technically good photo.

Finally something worth really looking at. Good image, I like it. Effective toning, I like this kind of style, although the glaring on the shins of the legs comes over a touch too harsh, the image works for me.

My number one choice of my four 10's in the challenge,
It has tension and beauty together. Several bold, unorthodox ideas are combined with just enough convention to reassure any viewer who begins to feel too disoriented. Such an original and subtly erotic tribute to the subject ... but that's not all! All this is done without the inclusion of a single photographic cliche. A beautiful work. 10.5

There's a lot I like about this. I really like the lighting, color and the background. The only thing I don't like is the head being chopped off but if you needed to do that I think a tighter crop (from her waist down and maybe her arm out of the shot) might work better.

This is an amazing amazing work of art. If I could vote twice I would give it two tens. I'm sure it used to be in my favorites but I cant remember who's image it is. I love the light and shadow on her calfs, the awkward position of her toes, the relaxed hang of her fingers, the underwear, the headless anomimity, the unusual beackgroudn color, the grain. This might be my most favorite picture EVER!

Funky! I like that you've cropped away the head - makes it at once universal and private/ intimate. Great composition. Yellow lighting actually works well. The colour noise seems a bit high - particularly obvious on her skin.
