Taken at a local fireworks display on a lake. I realise it's going to be a cliche shot because of the 4th, but I really liked it.

This is a good nightshot and great fireworks capture. I like the dark people and the reflection in the water of the fireworks.

Congrats Nyki on your first ribbon! It's very exciting! Lovely shot... fireworks made so much more interesting, and more appropriate for the challenge by the simple addition of people! Congrats again...

Exciting. The use of sepia was perfect. I normally do not like borders but this one fits.

Nice composition. Why duotone? See my rant in the forum. Color would have added points. 6

Very nicely captured rich and smooth duotones. I also like the silhouetted crowd in the foreground. The way you''ve captured the fireworks is really good. Excellent work.

The fireworks are overused in the challange, and they get kinda boring.

the sepia works well in this shot. great silohuette use. the people really make this picture for me. what's a night out of town without people. :o)

great night shot...I like the fact you desaturated the image. The folks watching from one side of the lake? make this picture come to life and what a great fireworks display. you brought this together very well. 10

I think for a fireworks shot to work in this challenge, it's important to include people enjoying them. You did that well by including the silhouettes in the foreground. I'd like to see this in color, although the tan tones does have a cool feel to it.

One of the best fireworks pic of this challenge: reflections in water, the people 's silhouettes, choice of duotone, composition...
Great picture.

Very nice capture. The rockets look a little like white christmas trees lit up at night. Great composition and capture of detail.

This is a beautiful capture... I simply love the silhouetted peoplein the foreground of this shot... It reminds me quite a bit of Gordon's 'bellagio' submission a while back in that aspect... I also think your choice of a duotone in this image also works very well... great shot... = 10

The sheen and ripples have texturized the water surface like a glossy pavement. nice contrasts... B/W is seldom effective for fireworks (to my taste), but this one's an exception.
