Hey I love the effect and I have the same camera. But I've got one problem. How do you get to the exposure settings? Because when I do get to the menu I don't see it.
08/23/2002 01:09:00 AM
wow. this is a great shot. did you do a double exposure? please email me with technic...cmcvety@umich.edu. thanks .
07/08/2002 10:03:00 PM
the trick to not seeing the movement is to use a longer exposure, less lighting, wear darker clothing and move really fast.
07/08/2002 12:38:00 PM
Congrats on 5th! This was a very interesting and great shot!
07/08/2002 12:37:00 PM
that's what I thought but I discarded the idea because I saw the hole place to illuminated (and the moon) and though that if you would've done it that way the movement would show. I guess the night was not as illuminated as it looks and it gave you a chance to move without been captured. Congrats again. For this challenge (fear) I did something with long exposure too, hope you like it.

thats me with the silly green hat and my bro with the black and white jumper. i didn't use any glass or composite imaging for this picture. I used a 16 second exposure, we posed for the ones where you can see our faces first, holding very still for about 7 seconds then quickly moving to our next position (looking at the moon) and remained there until the 16 seconds finished.

Very col pic. One of my personal favorites for this challenge. Questions: Are the guys in the back the same ones as the ones in the front? did you use a glass?

share!

Great Photo! I'm giving out two 10's this week....and your photo gets one of them.

This is an excellent shot. I can't wait to find out how you did this with a digital.
07/06/2002 11:19:00 AM
Very well done, and a neat idea. The way the boys are positioned draw the eye up and to the moon.
07/05/2002 03:37:00 PM
One of my Top 5.

Shadows in the opposite direction!
07/04/2002 12:24:00 PM
excellent! I love this one... The only improvement i could suggest woudl be a little white balance to remove some of the tungsten glow of the lights... I think the moonlight would mix better with the rest of the image if the light glow was not as yellow... good shot! = 8 - jmsetzler

cool effect
07/03/2002 07:07:00 PM
I really like the use of the glass to give the ghosted image.
07/03/2002 01:02:00 PM
Cool effect. The buildings/street look so "solid", why does the moon appear doubled? Like I said, really cool effect, done well. Photo 8 Transparency 7 total 8 swash

Very cool, nice camera.
07/03/2002 09:37:00 AM
This turned out really cool!! I just realized that there are only 2 people in this photo! Woah! That's awesome! Great job! I thought about trying something like this, but couldn't come up with a good composition... Nice work! A 9! I think maybe a different location could have been a 10 for me.
07/03/2002 07:46:00 AM
I'd love to know the settings and details of how this picture was taken. Great shot.

That's pretty cool. I like the color contrast between the yellow and the blue. Also interesting how the same two people appear twice.

This is a nicely done shot - I do see transparency, but others might not understand it. Just a little bit of lens flair going on. Great color, just a little blur. this is one of my favorites for this challenge. 8

Wild ..... I hope you will let us know how this was done ...
07/01/2002 06:40:00 PM
Very nice shot, well done. Long exposure???? Kee
07/01/2002 05:48:00 PM
Excellent creativity! This is very odd... the shadows cast by the two individuals point towards the light source in the sky as opposed to away. Which leads me to believe the light source is coming from a similar location as where the camera is. I'm racking my brain trying to figure this one out. I'd like to know how you did this, please explain once the challenge is over. 9. Brumos

Another one I am in awe over! Very cool. Again... my guess: long exposure, run in, pose, run to next position, pose, run out? How does this happen without blur lines? Maybe you can get together with the other photographer who did something similar for a how to?
07/01/2002 04:12:00 PM
i like it but transparency
07/01/2002 04:08:00 PM
Good idea. Perfect implementation.
07/01/2002 02:55:00 PM
This is really cool ... deep blue of the sky is nice. I'm guessing you used some nice filters for this one to keep the moon from becoming a washed out white blotch. Well done and imaginative.
07/01/2002 01:20:00 PM
nice idea. is it legal to do composit imaging in this compition?
07/01/2002 11:49:00 AM
nice... : )

I llove the effect of this photo. Very interesting take on the translucent theme. How'd you do it?
