Candid shot in a Diner in NYC. Of ever picture I took in 2005 I can find nothing more emotive then this. There is so much interesting to see here but most of all the relationship between these two friends.

this is new yorkish, when harry met sally, & golden girls all rolled into one. Nice everyday, eccentric and original type shot.. dunno why I like it so much, but I do :)

There's just something pricelss about this photo. Two senior ladies, decked out with their jewelry and enjoying a meal together. You have a good eye

This image says so much, I like to think that these two ladies although elderly seem to be self sufficent, independent and strong. A meal at perhaps not the trendiest place in town, they still dress up for the occasion and make the most of it...love this!

I love the essence of this shot but since it's a very busy and cluttered picture (in a positive sense), it would have brought out the subject and emotion more through b&w IMO.

Wasn't this is in the Coffee challnge? Seems familiar, but good shot.

Nice candid (I assume?) scene you've captured here. I really like how they seem to be ignoring each other :P

Like the papery skin tones and the eerie glow from the diner's counter. Super candid.

I just love this photo. I wouldn't be disappointed if it won; I would be if it wasn't in the top 3.

Very nice candid. I like that you got right down to their level. You really get a sense of their frailness and how age tends to shrink us. It also has the effect of creating an intimacy between the viewer and the subject. We arae brought into their world for a moment. Thanks for sharing this refreshing change of view.

Although on technical merits, I dont this is excellent in any way, - there is still some sort of visceral reaction I have to this photo, and I actually love it.....I think it may be the title. Overall, a lovely entry.

I would have cropped this on a bit of an angle just to take the lean out of the table.

Maybe a form of black and white might make this photo that much better.

Wow, this is an oddly compelling shot. It's like the year 2005 caught in a time-warp via these interesting ladies. There is so much interesting detail to take in. I love how the lady on the left has her serviette tucked up into her shirt!

I love this. So 50's, so real life down to earth. However, I feel the crop is a little too tight and the depth of field not short enough to make this a truly great photo. It also might be improved by change to black and white. This is the kind of subject I often dream of finding and you have done well here. I don't think typical DPC voters will enjoy the image for what it is - no sunset here, but its a good photo non-the-less. Something more you would expect to see at a gallery handling 'real life' images. Diners are great spots for that. :) Subject, technical merit, connection to viewer - 8 - good luck in the challenge!
