This is a great portrait, favorite dog the Lab I think, If you want to change the mood try to capture his attention with a ball or something, so he stares at the lens for a different drama, and what a great locale!

Surely a loyal dog... reminds me of a lab we had many years back.

This would have been an awesome shot without the dog took. Excellent.

This is perfection. You placed well, but you should have ribboned, IMHO....or at least got Honorable Mention. Great focus, dramatic clouds and landscape, smooth-as-silk reflection, cute subject.
I'm sorry I didn't make it to this in this Challenge...slow dial-up limits which voting I complete. Well done!

Not a typical shot with hiker, etc. etc. Love the dog as a change of pace from the normal. 9

Lovely scenic shot, but the dog seems really out of place here.

Love how you can still see the recent rain i the distance. Great capture. Sorry but IMO I think doggy spoils your shot.

Nice view! Could have used more contrast and the dog is almost in the way ;)
All this just imo, obviously. Good luck!

This is refreshing on two levels--it is an unusual landscape and an unusual pet portrait. You have managed to break away from two cliches in one shot. Also, it looks great. Kudos!

This is only my opinion - Note that I am a dog lover and this guy looks real cute - but the dod takes away from a beautiful nature shot.

Warm and rich colours, not sure of the dog but love the surrounds

Really nice landscape photo, but I find the inclusion of the dog spoils it a bit. It looks like the wilderness in the middle of nowhere, and then theres a labrador (or golden retriever?) there, domesticating the scene. Do you know what I mean? Now if it was a wolf or something... :)

Love the reflection on the lake, the sky is a bit washed out though.

This is the third time I have looked upon this image and I have to say that every time I see it I see the dog, Bodget, from the 1963 movie The Incredible Journey. When I see this lone dog I can't help but wonder where his other two companions, Lauth and Tao, are:-) I cannot help but see this dog traveling a long journey like that of in the movie to get back home. The composition and setting are very eye appealing. The only main critique I have on this photo is that the colors could be richer in hue - they look a bit washed out. Depending on the capabilities of the camera you could adjust the saturation & color as well as contrast levels in the camera OR you could do that in photoshop.

Wonderful shot, I'm really drawn into this shot much like the other one you did. Perfect choice for this challenge. I like how the lake is glass, and the passing storm adds drama to the shot. Well done.

The dog makes this stand out from the other gorgeous scenery shots.

I think this would be a lot better without the dog. It's a perfectly nice dog, but it doesn't really add anything to the impact of the image, so it just seems out of place.

Oh no, your not gonna get me again, this time I am going to watch you, and you BETTER throw that stick!!

Such a pleasant scene and the dog looks so focused on whatever its looking at. It draws you in and makes you want to know more.

I'm not one for dogs, but this one really sets the mood for the rest of the shot. Without the dog, I probably would have given it an (8) for being a typical, yet appealing, landscape. I gave it a (9)
