My partner Louise and I had some fun trying to re-create a Norman Parkinson look with the contents of the 'dressing-up cupboard'.

The statuesque poses he was famous for are tough to emulate, but I hope we got somewhere close.

Lit by a flash and softbox to front camera right bounced into the large mirror and a flash backlight outside the front door.

My second 4th placing! Many thanks to all who voted and for the encouraging comments.

Congrats to the winning images, no complaints on coming in behind them :-) This competition really raises the bar for quality and imagination.

Makes me chuckle. Hard to imagine doing Parkinson much better, really. Good luck!

This is great, it has such a 20's feel to it. I would have rated this as my top favourite had it been for the composition. The area on the otherside of the wall I would have completely subtracted from this image. I would have gone for a different angle and taken in only the wall on the left without what is on the otherside. It is still my second favourite for the challenge :)

Great photo, complete package with vintage phone, outfit, hat, handbag, gloves, and most of all, expression - my favorite for this challenge. Background duplicated in mirror is a little distracting, but the main subject elements carry the image. Love it.

excellent tribute.
I don't usually predict ribbon winners simply because I'm not very good at it.
So, I hope I don't jinx this by saying "I think this is going to get a ribbon"!!!!

the only thing I don't like about it is that the shelf appears to be coming out of her head ad I keep getting drawn to it.
But maybe I have a secret fetish of shelves coming out of womans heads and I don't know about it yet?
Hmmm, now there's a thought :-)

Very nicely done! Perfect makeup on the model to fit the era and the placement of the mirror with the angle of the shot is great.

I think the old 40's feel of this image is spot on! Love the overall tonal qualities and the sepia PP that you used. I think the other "elements" such as the floor and her clothes, the phone, her purse, it all completes the feel of this photo. Great job my friend.

Very cool vintage style photograph. Parkinson is the photographer...I assume. I tend to get isolated in landscape photgrapher land, so it's great to get introduced to more of the art type photographers. Very nice contrast and good brilliant highlights. Well done!

This is great. Very late 40's - early 50's. Love the filter you chose. The floor pattern is a bit distracting, but overall - well done.

I just love this imagery ... and where did you find that phone! Very clever, right donw to the gloves. Your tribute is very faithful to Parkinson's time, his claim to fame was that he took fashion photography from the studio to the outdoors.
