Took this at my kitchen sink with water in a blue cup and a diamond cut type of cutting board as the background, it really made a neat effect of the light.

I keep meaning to try one of these, I love the way the water kind of looks like a globe because of the roundness (and slight distortion?).

Wowsa! Great image Cindi! The blues are gorgeous and the frozen drop is priceless. I still have yet to learn this technique ;)

Shame on britteyboo for their comment. So what if you tweaked it a bit? At least you admitted it! To Britteyboo I say "Jealousy is such an ugly thing. Mind you, so am I, and I am VERY jealous of this" To you I simply say "Wonderful, well done."

Greetings from the Critique Club!

Congratulation on such good score. The Image deserved it.

Aesthetic: This one looks cool. Even though there are so many of this kind on DPC, this one stands out.

Technical: Perfect. Well exposed and "appropriate" DOF. The focus is sharp and lighting is just right. How did you achieved such smooth texture of water...?

Challenge: Not just fits the challenge but is amongst the best. No more comments on this one :)

Conclusion: Overall a great composition. Even though this is cliche shot, still you made it stand out from rest in the lot. I'm surely going to try this on my own. As many other comments hint- this does not even look real (though we know it is) and I really like it falling between two worlds. Looking forward to more submissions from you.

I'm by no means expert in area of photography. My comments are purely based on my limited understanding of technology and art behind digital photography. Apart from doing detailed evaluation of your submission, my intent is to learn different styles of photography by critically evaluating selective submissions. If you've got any questions about this critique, please feel free to contact me via email or PM.

Wish you a great day!
