My son's fishing rod and reel that has been lying in the garage like this for the last few months. Lots of broken daydreams for him.

Love the sand background, like the simplicity and chaos at the same time, only wish is the reel had a tad more light on it.

Step away from the reel...go to the store...buy ANYTHING but a bait-casting reel! ;^) You have to either love em, or hate em.

Great concept for this challenge. Wonderful lighting and nice crisp focus. I'll bet you brought the beach inside for this one didn't you? He-he. That's cool. Well done. 9

I like the composition. Good use of light, although the reel (?) could be a little lighter to make out a little more detail.

Great focus, nice even lighting that really allows the colours and textures to come through but provides enough shadow to show depth and dimension.

At first glance I thought, hmmm, way too literal an interpretation of the challenge topic, just some broken junk and that's it. After some moments I realised that there is much more here - an entire mystery or story about someone who has either abandoned or been forced to abandon a much loved hobby or perhaps this is all that's left behind of someone who loved to fish but is no longer with us. I wonder if other viewers will see that?

Weakness: Lack of composition/ aesthetic appeal.
