Inspired by the the book 'Fools Die' by Mario Puzo. Mario is more famous perhaps for his 'Godfather' books. Fools Die is along similar lines to the Godfather based in the seedy world of Casinos.

Thanks for all the comments.... have you ever choosen the wrong entry!? LOL.

I knew the shallow DOF would be a problem, but for some reason I liked the way it looks....

I have other versions with deeper focus!

I guess it was deliberate but I found the focus distracting

Im not particularly fond of your focus point here. The eye is drawn to the die, yet you focused in the foreground.

I like the subject and the shallow depth of field, but I think I'd prefer to see the point of focus moved about 1/2 inch back to put the dice and the jesters' faces more in focus. It's clear that the focal plane is placed where it is for a reason, I'm just not sure what that reason is... Other than that the exposure and composition are very nice.

DOF is just a bit too shallow

Great idea but I don't like the out of focus parts at all. Looking at this photo is an eyestrain!

Same about the soft focus here - it's very distracting. The idea was a good one.

not sure about the focus here...tends to be confusing, you don't know what to look at, but good choice of subject for this title

This is special - nice juxtaposition and the focus points work really well.

dof seems a little TOO shallow for me... the focus is on the knees/bells of the jesters.
