It's been too long since I submitted, so I threw this entry together quickly. Nothing fancy- just a bunch of books stacked on a table with black fabric behind it. I should have made the "mouth" interior more shadowed and the "teeth" whiter, but that's what I get for waiting until the last minute. :-/

Shot in RAW. Levels, curves, USM, converted to B&W with Channel Mixer and then colorized the whole thing slightly toward sepia.

This is probably how my daughter feels right now, even though it is at a college level. Sharp, clean and right on the point.

Nice concept image, creative and it gets the point across. I would have liked a bit more and softer light on the subject and perhaps a touch more contrast. Regardless it's a keeper.

Very very cool! great composition - so far my favorite!!! I love her pose, the background and her expression!!! The use of black adn white only adds to the apprehension, and her eyes are perfect! Good texture, lighting, cropping, and idea! KUDOS!!!

Awesomely clever! Brought a good smile to my face. I am sometimes slightly disapointed by very clever, cute, humorous ideas, that get translated into poorly executed photos. You, however, have managed to execute this delightfully whimsical and engaging concept rather nicely, IMO. Technicals are fine, and the composition works well. I love the expression on her face, really helps to make the shot, I think. And your treatment of the image works to set the perfect feel for the image. Very nice job! Well done :-)

LOL - I didn't get it at first. She looks very familiar - I know I've seen her before - she is a great model and always does a great job :) Cute idea - must have taken some time setting up that Homework Monster. Crop seems a bit tight, especially on the right where the book is cut off but I don't know - probably the best way to make the monster appear - guess that's why you had to go black and white also - which does work really well. A great idea and certainly meets the challenge - good job :)
(I just remembered - I think this is Scalvert's model - she's a cutie!)

Cute compostion and subject. Sharper focus and a little more illumination on face would be better.

Could this be Scalvert? Only he would go through that much trouble to meticulously (sp?) stack each book like that! In any case, I love her expression and the looming pile behind her. I can certainly relate to that feeling from my school days!

Ha! I found you Shannon ;) Your poor little girl amongst all those books. Young Einstein ;) I do like the fact that the "monster" is quite subtle but the image demands time and attention for the "beast" to reveal itself ;) Great job my friend ;)
