One of my favorites of the challenge. What I like best is the way you captured the unique tones of his skin. The different shades of orange, grey and brown are fascinating. I also like the symmetry of the shot and the depth your lighting successfully creates. Good luck. I can't vote but I give it a 10.

I really love this. You almost don't know its an elephant, but the lighting and composition are magnificent. The details captured really make this shot, down to the hair and dirt on his face.

This is a great subject. Excellent detail, and I love the color tones. I do wonder if you took shots from other angles and settled in on this as a final choice. The crop is a little tight for my taste, I'd like to see more of this photogenic creature in the shot. I don't like the tiny tan key-line border on this because it almost looks like a bad crop at a glance. all-in-all - great shot - 9

Great shot - he/she looks very deep and thoughtful. It's the sign of good shot when you think about the subject like that. Good textures and lighting - one of the better ones and a favourite of mine in this challenge. [9]

i cant believe how much detail you captured in this guy. i tend to feel very sorry for animals in captivity. but the lighting and detail of this capture are truly outstanding. the symettry works well here also. at first i wasnt sure about it but now i think it was the right choice.

My favorite of this challenge! I just love your choice of framing, and yes, even though the subject is perfectly centered, this works for me. The colors and DOF are perfect. Kudos.
I feel that your choice of title really enhances the photo as well

My absolute favourite for the challenge! This is just beautiful. To me elephants are just a mass of gray, but here you've brought out the skin in an array of gray and orange tones, fantastic! Is that some kind of mud on the skin? The texture of the skin with the lines of the veins is awesome. Perfect lighting and composition. A definite 10, if I could I'd even give you a 20!

The lighting is a little hot around the left side of the image but the color and textures in the image are spectacular. Good framing.
