Camera: Canon PowerShot S45
Location: Manila, Philippines

Aperture: 4.6
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/320 sec

This one was a relatively easy shot. The dragonfly was so cooperative that I was able to 1. take shots without a tripod (just clicking around it very closely!)
2. quickly check the tiny LCD screen on the camera for review
3. run to the house to get my tripod
4. do some more clicking around the dragonfly using the clunky tripod until the fly finally got too disturbed to remain perched on the papyrus stem.
The next morning, I saw a different dragonfly occupying the same position, but not as interestingly colored as this delicate crimson.

Color looks unnaturally saturated...otherwise a nice shot.

If the colors are true, this is the most beautiful dragonfly I've seen. Your capture and green modifiers are perfect great shot.. Good luck...

Photoshop is an amazing tool. Would this insects mother recognize the color? Nice sharp focus. Additional crop off right side would help.

Oh, wow! This blows my dragonfly away... ah well! Shame about the leaf behind the dragonfly which distracts a little. Great texture in the wings. 9

Wow. Is that really the dragonfly's color? I have never seen that color on a d'fly. But I think it's a really great photo. Oustanding colors. Love the shadows in the background. It really makes the d'fly stand out that much more. Excellent quality. Wish the image was a bit bigger size. But it's all good. =)

very very nice! deserves a high ranking in this challenge. detail and color are amazing. his little head is a bit out of focus.. but i think that is somewhat normal for these critters.... they are so shiny, they "seem" out of focus. Great all around job!
