Beautiful shot. Colors are wonderful. It definitely should have scored higher then it did.

I didn't get very involved in the low-key thing, because things so subtle elude me. Compositionally, it's very balanced. It's a little busy on the left side, but the negative space on the right balances it out. Definitely complex.

What never ceases to amaze me about your images is how you seem to nail the colors every time. You've managed to use knock-out colors, yet maintain the serenity of the scene; all while maintaining crisp, sharp lines. I think it's gorgeous. You should have a line of postcards!

Very nice, Bear. Without being judgemental,I can see why some would have a hard time buying the low key aspect of this shot. There is a bit more light and shadow detail than I would think would be commonly acceptable. Having said that, it has some great shadow detail, and for an old sea dog like me, is very calming and restful, reminding me of cool mornings spent with a cup of coffee and a quiet harbor before the start of a hectic day. Kind of the deep breath before starting work. Let me know if you are going to do a print version.

This was originally one of my personal top three picks for this challenge because of the great shadow tones (Uh, I mean detail) in the boats. The framing is exceptional and technical quality outstanding. This is 10 times better than my own higher scoring entry.

Doesn't meet my classical def of low-key, but it's a GREAT shot, Robert.

Another beauty Robert, I guess the masses didn't see it as low-key enough!

As the fisherman would say, "it's a keeper". Well done Robert, I suspected the mark of the skiffer in this. The boats leading roughly to the sun.. nice.

One of my absolute favorite images in this challenge. Very tough to do good low-key in images with so much color. It has more detail in the highlights than most low key images but the dark detail of the boats is incredible! Wonderful technical achievement and flat out nice sunset imagery.

Wow! Not sure this is "low key", but it sure is beautiful and emotional. I'll rate this very high. However, would have been much better by moving the horizon off the vertical center line.

This might not hit "low key" for everyone but I still like it. Good colors and cool boats.

Absolutely lovely! Exposure is great and certainly low-key. Focus is sharp and composition is nice.
