For those so interested: 159/198/166 were my scores the day this was shot. I kid you not. And I bowl about twice a year or so.

It happened like this: we have office fundraisers for the slush fund - one happens to be an afternoon of bowling. I didn't have an afternoon, I had an hour between meetings, but I ran over there, bowled two games simultaneously (my right lane self beat my left lane self) and took some shots for the challenge. My coworkers already think I'm nuts, so this was nothing... Came home after work, processed, found one I liked, was gonna submit. For reasons I'm not entirely sure of, I'd reset the shutter to 1/6 sec at some point. NOT GOOD!

So on Saturday afternoon, I packed up my ball, my shoes, my camera, my tripod, and off to the lanes I went. I'd cradle the remote in my left hand whilst also supporting the ball. Do the approach thing, release the ball, immediately turn and point the remote at the camera, turn back, check progress of the ball down the lane, hit the button. Rinse and repeat. I had a blast.

Post processing - crop and rotate to straighten a bit, exposure offset and gamma tweaks, bump in saturation with mostly affected the wood flooring, cloned out a small piece of wood-like stuff on lower left, resized, USM, added small border, and voila!

I love the originality of the idea, but the title perfects it. Nice composition, and exposure seems spot on.
Not too keen on the border, but 'tis not a big deal.

That sounds like SO MUCH FUN. Don't you love it when you don't just get a good picture (which this one is -- I love it) but also a fun memory from a photo shoot?

Nice sense of the 2-second period when the pins are falling.

This is such a cool photo. The perfect reflection of the pins in the wood, the obvious movement. This is one of my favortes in this challenge. Fantastic job. 10
