When i came across this grey heron, he just assumed the startled straight-neck stance and refused to budge. But once i stayed still long enough, he suddenly started ignoring me completely, no matter how much i moved, and went back to his fishing. He caught two frogs, this is the second - after the first, i knew exactly where he was looking for them and catching the right moment was quite simple.

Postprocessing:
No crop! A first for me, for a wildlife shot. Cloning to remove a few stray droplets and shorten some of the more obtrusive grass blades (but not outright removing anything), burning the background and foreground to make the heron and his prey stand out more, overall contrast and brightness adjustment, resize and a little USM.

Yeah, that's more like it. Two years ago I said I'd only score birds like these high when they were actually doing something like catching a fish. Cool catch, for the bird and you. :)

Being a bird shot lover, naturally this got a 10 from me. Great capture (by you and the bird!) :)

Excellent Capture! I tried for a couple of hours to get some Cormorants diving for frogs & fish. While I got some good shots, they do not compare to your.

Well done.
