Post Challenge

Thanks everyone for the great comments, it's fantastic to finally land my second ribbon - I was starting to think I was a one-hit-wonder, lolol.

Made it all worth while getting up at 4am to make the drive to capture this magic moment at Manly.

I don't know, I think he is just a glutton for punishment! Seriously though, Rikki has had some bad luck and challenged me twice when I was lucky enough to peak.

I know this will sound pretty childish to some DPC members but the 6 average is almost as important to me as winning a ribbon. I currently have a photo in Textures which is sitting on 6.2 so if all goes to plan, I'll finally have that 6 average after 35 challenges!!!

Very interesting image. The boats lined up like that looks like an ociliating wave and that orange... very intense!

I think the right side has almost too much contrast IMO at least when I compare it to the left side which seems to work better with the orange color.

Okay, I'm a bit wanting to lean or rotate this picture because of the clouds but I see the horizon is straight as are the boats. Very interesting effect. Love the colors of the overall scene, very golden with the yellow on the top. A very nice postcard scene. :) An 8

Very awesome golden tones and wonderful reflections. Only the the tilted horizon keeps this from going to the top.

Beautiful mellow hues of yellows and oranges in this seaside picture of docked boats. Overall the picture is lovely, serene and calm but I wonder if waiting would have produced a more dynamic picture that would move the composition from good to wonderful - such as a chance boat moving sailing towards the center channel or even some more dynamic clouds in the distance. I know there is only so much you can do but sometimes waiting gives unexpected and surprisingly wonderful results. As I said it is a good picture but it just needs something more to make it eye-popping.
