Wow, beautiful. Cool subject arranged in an interesting fashion. I'd love to see this in color. And congrats on a top ten!

Great minds think alike...
Beautiful placing. I was scared to enter knowing I'd get eeeks, eeeews and yucks from the weaker sex and all but you pulled it off with true grace.
Cheers! |

great! but central out of focus bit is distracting...better to have used a smaller aperture if possible to get a better dof...great lighting and excellent as a b and w |

You've done an outstanding job making me feel the glistening texture of the critter. Lighting and reflections are terrific. I would have given one more point for slightly greater DOF, but no worries, it's among my top picks. |

This would be perfect with the focus brought forward a tad. Other than that it's a great subject and excellent lighting. I think the black background really works well. You can really feel the texture in this shot. |

This is very cool, but why is the front out of focus? This would do alot better if all of it was in focus. |

Awesome. Gooey, squishy, alienesque, and very effective. The only nitpick I would have, or suggestion I would make, is to clone out the dustspecks, and perhaps the reflections, in the right hand foreground. I'm just looking now, and wonder also is the depth of field could be widened, to sharpen the foreground suckers too. But still, a very strong overall entry...well done. |

I like the composition play between light and dark. Good choice on going B&W |

Edward Weston meets octopus! Terrific! I wish the shiny glare were controlled a little bit, perhaps by polarizing, though I realize you need to show it for the right feeling... |

Nice yin and yang feel. Great image for a dynamic black and white. I like the title also. The only thing that bothers me is the very out of focus tube foot beneath the dark tentacles spiral. Actually the whole front cluster of four is quite out of focus. The eye is pulled to the upper left (which is alright), but I think it'd be more natural if the focus was further front and fell off in back. |

cool image but a greater dof would have helped those suction cups up front. |
