OMG- I just now saw your face in the background! I mean I gave it a 9 in the first place, but wow I can't believe I didn't notice- although when voting I usually just go right thru and I only see it in the thumbnail really. great image :0)

Yes it was a piece of screen I found on the side of my house. It's not insect screen, but it was to keep out mice. Each square is about half a centimeter or just less than quarter of an inch. It is actually silver too although it looks black in the picture.

Just to tell you that it was one of your images that inspired me to make this picture, so thanks.

Love the distorted images you got. Is it a piece of screening? Great job!

Thank you metatate. I am a bit mad at myself for not doing a better job with this picture in post processing. I kinda rushed it and somehow added all this grain. Funny cos I spent about three days perfecting the drops and taking the picture, then rushed the end. I love the effect though and definitely want to explore it some more. Thanks too for the link to Chuck Close. I checked him out and found his work inspirational.

I had you this as my top pic. The effort, beauty and intrigue here really should have given it a ribbon. You should sell it as a print (not sure if people buy prints but it definitely would have interest on a wall.
Looking at it closely I can see that noise and sharpness could use adjustment -- that's probably what pushed it down a bit - I'm not a purist like that though ... I'm more about ideas and wow-factor when it comes to voting..

The grid is pretty small, each square is about .5 cm. The whole set up was horizontal so that the drops would be fat in the middle and not drip downwards. Needed loads of patience manipulating the drops. Knew I was spending too much time on this picture when I could see tiny little faces looking at me every time I blinked.

Cool! So many of these small squars would make great individual photos.

This is so cool! I just keep looking at it, it's like 49 photo's in one. Each and everyone unique. The squares that aren't filled provide a good break to keep the interest going. 10

Oh you got me .... that's briliant. FAVE 9 .... After looking at all the entries this is the only one that has anything really interesting going on. It looks like you have a different expression in each square. It reminds me of pop-art big-time. Are you familiar with Chuck Close? ... If not look him up. Anyway, this really works for me in every way.

This image is 'just plain crazy'. -In a good way. I'm guessing a macro of a partially wet screen. WOW.
