This is the inside of my NYC hotel: the Marriott Marquis. As I was shooting the picture, a couple security guards ran over to me, hands on gun holsters, and barked at me to put my camera away. As I had a few seconds before they got to me, I pretended that I figured they were accosting someone else and went ahead and took the shot. When they arrived, I was slowly putting my camera away, and I said, "Are you talking to me?" They made it clear to me that they were, and I looked very compliant as I walked to the elevator.

Hi David

Well done on the ribbon - well deserved!

But do you think this has improved on your good work or not? I think it looks more dynamic:

Obviously, cropped from your already cropped image - and apologies if this irritates you. ;)

Congratulations, David! I love the yellow/orange, it's beautiful. How did you get the picture so clear top to bottom, in particular without a tripod?

Lovely shot - great use of angles, colour and composition. It's getting to be a sad world when we can't even take pictures in a public place without being suspected of nefarious intentions.
Congratulations on your 1st place.

Glad you weren't arrested. You'd best be framing this, David. I really like the lines in this - challenge aside it's a great photo with an abstract quality to it. You've a got a great eye.

Now that's a low score for a blue - bet you're surprised to see this. Excellent work - and the best kind of revenge on the loony security guards :-) congratulations.

I love the design in this shot. Great colours and composition. One point - I wonder if you'd rotated, until the vertical 'line' was 90 degrees, whether that would have made the shot neater? I think the design would have been even stronger as a pattern, making it more difficult to discern the subject. [9]

Picture is hypnotic. What is this a picture of? The composition is very good. Wonder how the picture would look like in B&W. I like the yellow though.

There's nothing I can think of that would improve this image. The corner line leads the viewer up and up and up and the yellow just give this image a ton of impact. Great capture. 10

My second favourite. You deserve a ribbon. Simple, yet very powerful. You definitely met the challenge. I can't find anything wrong other than maybe you could make your image even bigger for more powerful effect. 10
