I spent a good bit of time crafting an elaborate set-up of lighting with multiple flashes in my basement, and took numerous shots down there this morning. Then I took a couple quick ones with my daughter and the cat with just light from the window, and liked this much better. I'm not particularly fond of the shadows or how bright her nose is, but I really like her expression with the cat.

I tweaked the colors and contrast, tinkered with the shadows, noise ninja, crop/resized.

Window light is some of the finest there is, in my opinion. Great use of it here, and excellent job getting both sets of eyes on the same plane, and getting great expressions from both models!

she looks like that little girl from 'i am sam' and 'dreamer'

Alan: this is a most intriguing shot because both models are in synch. Indeed, a lovely and memorable capture. Congratulations on your top 20 finish.

This is an amazing shot Alan...wish it finished higher for you. I gave it a 10...I cannot belive anyone would give this a 1, 2 or 3 like they did...well done...it deserved better

This shot is terrifically striking. The sharpness and contrasting colors of the 2 sets of eyes is awesome. Surprised you didn't place better. You should take my spot on Team SMITE.

cool angle and the addition of the cat is great, but the girl's eyes look a little overdone. they dont look real.

Wonderful shot. Great eyes. The colors of the cat and the dress work really well together beyond the color of all the eyes. Very nice. Bumping up.

Great! Hopefully others will notice the photographic skill used here when their digital art sirens go off. Such wonderful details you captured especially in the eyes and the DOF and striking colors really makes this pop. Btw, she looks kinda like that actress Dakota Fanning!

My question is how did you get the cat to look like it wanted to get it's picture taken? I have to wait till mine's asleep and wake her up to get a good shot. I like this picture alot.

Splendid portrait of a little girl and her animal friend.
Just one nitpick, the reflection of the light on her left side of the nose, find that a bit odd. Would perhaps also fix the tiny hotspot on her chin.
Really great job though :)

I love the color of the eyes, but I think she looks fake, like plastic.

Nice composition and color, but the girls face looks like too much noise reduction was used, she looks a bit unreal. Very nice otherwise.

8 - Very good portrait and capture of both. Colors are nice, although wonder if a variant in the background may have given this something extra. A more finely tuned crop, especially at the top, may have also made this even better in my opinion. Some slight 'issues' on the girl's nose, but fairly minor. The cat really makes this.

Great image! The post process on the eyes (cat and girl) are great - I love the DOF. The girl's skin tones seem a little off, like curve adjustment was tweaked too much or something - textures seem forced as well. Overall, great image!!

Love the angle and DOF. Having both of their eyes on a diagonal makes for a very interesting composition. Excellent color as well. Her face looks a little plasticky to me.

The eyes seem too artificial. I think it would have been better to just leave them a tad more subtle. Still, great composition, especially the angle. Great focus, and nice depth of field. -7

Hmmm.... Striking image and have scored it reasonably well. However, IMHO I think the child's right cheek has been a bit over edited (Bit of powder on the nose would also have helped on the nose shine). Top notch on the eyes though.

I LOVE this! The eyes (all four of them) are connecting with the lens in a powerful way. I love the colour, the dof, the composition. Has to be a 15...oh, what, we only go to 10! Well it will have to be 10

The girl looks very much like a child movie star I do not remember her name. Very cute. This image is great for the faces are crispy clear and it is very interesting. Like the colors too.
You maybe post me if you know what actress I am referring to ;)

oh wow...beautiful. How in the heck did you get such great tones on the girl's face? She looks familiar, but I can't remember where...awesome shot, definately top 10 at least.
