You are quite right on two points -- sloppy masking and an outdoors shot. I was rushed in my editing (shot the last day) and had zero indoor portraiture opportunities during the week. My camera will only achieve a shallow DOF on macros, hence my attempt to achieve it in post-processing.

Not a good title. Sorry. :) I do like everything about the photo except for that pale egg and her out of focus arm. Maybe I'm not getting it. Anyway, just my .02 cents. Good luck.

OH MAN! You almost nailed this image! SO CLOSE, I feel for you. If only you had the plane over her face to the egg to be in focus then you would have had an awesome image well worth an 8 or 9. Unfortunately, the beautiful necklace distracts me and the garment she is wearing under the jacket makes me want to look at her boobs--my eye goes right to that area.

This photo seems to suffer a bit from the post editing.
The shallow DOF seem to have been edited-in through blurring and sharpening, am I correct? Giving this photo an almost artificial appearance.
Nonetheless, I still think this is a fairly good photo, and will vote it well.

The hand and egg is terribly distracting from this shot. I think I just would have like thid one better had you cropped out the whole left side and just focused on the girl.
