Congrats mate. I would have liked to see the three of you carrying this window around. You must have looked very silly and it must have been very funny.

Is that simply a photo behind a Frame? Look good though

04/30/2006 08:56:42 AM
Almos surreal, the difference between the frame and the scene. Maybe a little too extreme.

Good idea and well done photo.. I like how the path leads the eye to the house... A little too much yellow-green color on the dead grass, otherwise pretty good..

Absolutely love the framing of this image, just seems to invite you into the picture, makes me want to walk up the path and enter the house. Really well done, good luck

wow that's crazy...did you take a window frame out with you or is that really where your window is? That's a beautiful scene...the best I've seen so far this challenge. Good work.

size\perspective of window to path seems un-natural. Great idea. - 7

Doesn`t quite look real but nothing says it has to. Very good,9.

This is really neat, I like how you cropped the picture right to the edge of the frame...it gives it that "portal" kind of affect.

One of my favorites so far. Makes me want to crawl right outside this window.
Love the contrast of colors and darkness of background subjects. Great job here IMHO. 10

Now this is a cool shot.
I'm still studying it trying to determine if it's all real or a setup.
Regardless, I really like this. Best of luck!

Top 3. Nicely done. There is a surrealism to it that is very appealing. Great the way you cropped the image to exactly match the wooden window frame. The casual way you have the window swung open invites the viewer into the scene.

I love this shot! It's beautiful! Obviously it has been questioned since it say's it's been validated, but I'm having trouble even seeing why. I'd give it a 10 if I could vote in this challenge.

this is awesome and should do well...hope you score high with this 9

04/26/2006 11:46:36 PM
The DOF is too deep. It would help if the window frame were slightly out of focus. With everything being so sharp, it looses any sense of depth and makes the picture look flat.

awesome photograph, reminds me of lord of the rings....hope it does well.

04/26/2006 03:29:25 PM
very nice. I'd like to climb into my monitor to walk that path ;)

talking about the path, why didn't you choose to put it a bit more in the center? I think my urge to walk through the window frame would be much bigger! bumping you to 8

Very nice capture here. I really like the story-book feel of this and the open window frame that "invites" the viewer and the eye into the shot.

04/25/2006 01:40:49 PM
This is nice and I'm giving it an 8 but it seems a little fake to me. The window seems too close to the ground and grass. You probably brought a window outside and set up this shot, which is ok, but a better placement might have worked better. Right now it looks as if you were walking on that path you'd end up bumping into the side of the house that this window is suposedly attached to.

Nice to have the detail on the window frame rather than the usual silhouette. I like the rural end-of-winter feeling.
