Greetings from the Critique Club :-)

This is a nice capture you've got here. It's interesting, it seems like people are usually put off by human baby shots, but everybody always likes to see nice shots of baby critters, and this is a nice one :-) I think this fits the challenge well, I could definitely envision this image on the pages of a wildlife magazine or the like.

My first impression of the photo is the strong full frame composition and very nice use of dof. The subject stands out great. I like how he is 'framed' by the tree branches. You've definitely caught him in an interesting, and 'fun' potition/situation, and I think it makes for a very engaging photo. The part of the other ape at top right is a slight distracting, in that as I look longer at the image, I find my eye to keep glancing up at it, but it is a very minor thing, and hey, what can you do, ask the ape to please move out of frame? :-P One other small detail, it might be nice to see all of the little guys hand at the top, but I think that would only strengthen the shot more, I don't really see it as being detrimental at all the way it is now.

So overall, a nice shot, fits the challenge well. Great interest factor, and not a bad score. Nicely done. If you have any questions or comments or anything, please feel free to contact me.

Happy shooting,
taterbug

What great clarity. I'd love it if you adjusted levels or curves to really enrich the overal tones, darken the background a bit.

A bit of a stretch in your title to make the shot fit the challenge. Nice ape, but needs a killer title to fit this challenge to me..
