 Taken at a swim meet for kids, not sure how old he is but I guess 10-12 years old. Went there with Steinar Hugi, he wanted to photograph his nephew who was competing. Only stayed there for about 20 minutes and then went to a handball game, took a couple of photos there of the winning team who just landed an Icelandic championship and had an option of sending in a photo of them cheering with confetti all over the photo but I liked this one better.

Post processing was minimal, would have been legal in basic editing. Just decreased the saturation bumped up the contrast and darkened with curves. Sharpened after resizing.

Cool to have ribboned with both sports shots I have sent in so far, considering I don´t have a clue on what I am doing in sports shooting. :D

Congrats Lárus! Seems like you can't log on to DPC these days without seeing your name on the frontpage. Seeing the eye throught his glasses makes the images special, great capture!

This is a really great shot, you absolutely know what you're doing! You have impeccable, natural timing. Good framing and the fact that kid is making eye contact with your lens is incredible. Nice.

Great shot. I love the fact that you decided to desaturate, as it decreases the distraction of a bright blue swimming pool, and focuses the attention on the subject.

A shot worthy of the front of the sports section! Great action shot. I like the way you've included the swimmer, the wave they are creating and the splash, but also left room for them to continue on to the right of the shot. Well done.

Good shot. I could see this, although cropped more imaginitively, gracing a front page for sure. Your chosen crop lets it down though - I can see the point pof keeping the splash all in, but it kills the immediacy of the image, which requires a stronger placing of the athlete's face I think. The splash gets you after some study - the face gets you straight away.

AWESOME! Love everything about this. The open mouth and eyes, the arm about to come up and over as she turns her head to breath. The stop action and focus is spot on! I love the blue lane divider behind her too - 10 - best I've seen so far.
