A wolf I caught. He was afraid but was too thirsty not to drink. Caught some great ape pictures but figured I submitted too many of those...

No neat image here - jist a bit of gaussian blur to add a little softness.

Beautiful, like the processing except slightly soft for me, prefer original sharpness.

Lovely image. I prefer the crop and colours of this version to the original, however I do prefer the sharpness of the original.

This is great, so rich and strong! I disagree with comments about "sharper"; I think using the slight gaussian blur has helped this image transcend, helped involve us emotionally. Good job!

Greetings from the Critique Club -

Let me begin by saying that Free Studies have been great for you.

This is a phenomenal shot. I would have liked to have seen this shot without the blur. I think slightly sharper may have been nice. I dont know - I would have to see them side by side.

Other than that - fantastic variety and blends of colors. Composition works great with him off to the left. Great capture of the tongue and the stare in his eyes. Lighting and shadows work great as well. This picture emits a feeling of spirit (if that makes any sense). Cant give any real suggestions as to how to make it better. What else can I say - fantastic job - great score - shame it didnt ribbon.

I am looking forward to seeing what else you come up with inthe future.

Tim

Ahhh ... a photograph about a wolf. What I like best is that you know which side of the lens the subject is on.

Wow! I originally scored this a 7... don;t know what I was thinking. I'm very pleased that I've come back to this shot as it deserves a serious bump up. I attention went striaght to the eyes as it should. You've done a beautiful job with this capture. I like the post processing here as well. A dark * dangerous feel to it but with a touch of softness. It's perfect. 10. Good luck in the challenge!

interesting.
Would personally prefer higher contrast.
I like how the hair and posture of the animal lead your eyes towards the nose.

Nice capture... feels a bit soft focus in a '70s way which doesn't quite work for an animal for me but could just be my crappy eyesight. Nice eye detail.

Beautiful dog. I like the color tones in this imae. The tongue being out is a cool moment to capture, but it also looks a little awkward.
