I love how the hard lines of the window contrast with the animal's soft fur. Really nice shot!

Wow. Another shot this week waiting to go commercial. Perfectly overpainted panes, wonderfully worn-out, and as cool a canine as can be found. Can't get much better than that!

thanks so much for the wonderful comments, everyone! :)
this shot was just lucky all the way around. it was taken the last day we were in atlanta--dropping a friend off at her brother's house, i saw lazlo peeking at us thru the door and thought it was too cute. grabbed my camera and took 4 shots with different compositions (my favorite version of this shot actually is only one pane, but i didnt think it showed enough window to meet the challenge). when i got home and saw that the new challenge was inside looking out, i was like, you've got to be kidding me!! lucky luck! ;)

jacko, i just couldnt bring myself to take the hoss to atlanta!

thanks again! :)

The compostion and textures of this shot really work for me. Only downfall is the one pane of glass is a bit overexposed. Great shot.

I love the contrast and the textures. The window framing the dog's face peaking out with one eye and cocked ear makes for a really lovely photograph.

Charming - and such nice, sharp detail - good focus. I like the way the head is cut off by the window, so that just the one eye looks out, as well - cautious-seeming, exploratory.

This is just wonderful. I love the expression on the dog's face, the outline of the old windows, the texture of the curtains. Excellent all the way.

This is good. I love the tones and his wistful expression. I like that part of him is hidden. The cracked paint on the window is good too.

Very nice... I love the pure white window frame, but still with good detail, and the white dog, blank nose, composition, everything is really great. 8!

This is a great shot. I love how both the dog and the window panes stand out against the darker backdrop and the placement on the page is perfect. I can't give you a vote but if I could, it would be at least an 8. Great job.

Incredible shot! I love the emotions of it all. I love the face of the dog, the intent eyes, the wood grills, the curtains, the dog being off-center, the black and white. 10

This is great. It's what I would call a 'perfect photo' if i had taken it myself. I commented on another pet photo today that was excellent also. Pets are 'cliche' and everyone takes photos of their pets at one time or another. Most of them look like they would make good additions to the family album rather than a piece of art worthy of framing and hanging on the wall. This photo falls into the 'hang the friggin thing on the wall' category. The old window frame really makes this shot for me. Maybe this is an old house and this window has seen more than its fair share of paint coats over its history... The window not being clean also adds a wonderful element to that overall effect. I don't know anything about the dog since it's not my pet, but this one is speaking to me. When I get an image of a dog in my mind, I'm thinking about that tongue hanging out and the dog is ready to go... come on.. lets' go.. hurry up.. i'm ready.. lets go :) This dog, however, isn't saying that to me. This dog may be sad. He (or she) may also be 'curious' about something outside the window... like the guy with the camera :D The ear seems perked up in such a way that the dog is intrigued by whatever is in his field of view... I can't really say much more here other than DAMN.... I wish this was part of my own portfolio :) Kudos on a great piece of photography... this is my fav of the week... = 10

Nice composition. The choice to position the dog so that only part of his face is visible works well. I also like the chosen crop of how much window to include/ exclude. The one main pane is nicely balanced by the small included areas of the other 3 panes. I also like the contrast between the exterior white paint and the dark textured material inside the window - the same contrasts reflected in Fido himself. A strong image!

aaaawwwwwwwww. That is too cute. Great framing, but I'd like to see a crop of just one windown pane. Great choice for a B&W. Very effective shot. Jacko. 9

The white window frame and white dog together work well. Even the fact that the window is dirty is not at all negative. Very good work - 10.

This is just so nice, so very nice. Such a puppy face! He wants to come outside and play. This could benefit from a slightly different composition. I know that's asking a lot for a shot like this because it's the dog face that makes it. It's just that the window panes seem a bit unbalanced compositionally. Maybe even just cropping it all down to the one window pane would help. 8

magic. love this pup's eyes. this is the best crop you could have chosen IMO...keeps the pup where he belongs...off centre. he's trying to check things out without being too obvious. I'm sure if I knew wha tthe rule of thirds was, this would fit, but i really don't know, so never mind.
love the drapes too - props to whoever suggested you include that.

should place high.
