Gahhhhhhh.....the devil part of the shot is too weak to make this a good submission.
Failed attempt No.1 included a white background while trying to get a devil horn shadow on the chessboard....failed
Failed attempt No.2 included a cane to support the hands. I tried a golf putter and dropped it which tore a big hole on the seamless paper backdrop....failed.
This is attempt No.3. Hoping it does better than the submission by Jenesis :)

Way to go, Bazz! I had this one rated pretty high.

I also think mine was better, and it's way down at 142nd. Just kidding!

Way to go Bazzy.

I think my shot was better though, even if it is way down in 32nd. *grin*

For some reason I had a feeling this might have been yours. Excellent photo, no way I could compete against that. :-) Congrats on 5th place!

wish the hands conveyed "devil" instead of "praying" ; lighting is just right -- really captures the feel of a movie poster -- one of my favorites

Normally wouldn't score this so high, but it's perfect for a movie poster! Great negative space for the writing and all!

Ooh, time to recalibrate my monitor again (moves a little to the left to get a lighter view) A nice clean and simple looking shot, I like it :)

The simplicity of this photo is very nice. I get a real "Godfather" vibe viewing this. Very good choice of lighting and composition. I would prefer to see the hands just a tad closer to the table, but that's just me. Very nice!

I think you did a great job here. I can't help but think how cool this image would have been without the chess set. Nonetheless... very impactful with the feel of a true movie poster... well done.

I would have liked a more interesting end game, but otherwise a good dramatic composition with plenty of darkness for the devil to stew in.

great light - cool photo - did the devil win or lose?

what I am looking for in this challenge is for a creative 'wow' shot that would go on a movie poster. I think that's what the challenge is all about...this shot would work...great job
