 A retake of one of my very first challenge entries, with the benefit of two years of DPC experience...

I sprayed my patient model with water and covered the pepper with rubber cement, then set it on fire. The background is black cloth, and I've got a brolly box on the right side of the foreground and a monolight behind her to the left. There's also a reflector directly behind her.

Processing: Coverted from RAW, levels, USM, cloned out a few specks, spot saturation and dodge & burn adjustments, colorized her face a little toward the red side.

No offence to the blue ribbon winner, but putting the 2 shots side to side, how can the winning photo emphasize heat by using a neutral white background while this one with a much more powerful representation comes in 16th ??? :-\
In my eyes this says " Heat " to me so much more.

Wonderful depiction of heat! If I'm right you get to cross 3 goals off your list? The 'perspiration' turns a super shot into fantastic one! My only niggle (if I'm allowed to nit pick) is that the fork is just a little too close to the end of the image. Good luck in the challenge, for me there is a ribbon of a certain colour waiting for you (bumping up 2).

Edited to say I (now) think I was wrong about whose challenge entry this was so guess the goals comment is wrong.

my only suggestion would be to have had a bite taken out of the pepper so she had a reason to be sweating and looking like that.
Otherwise it's a good attempt at the challenge.

edit...maybe there is some pepper missing at the end of it, but it isn't very clear.
