I think it's way to hard to DQ someone because of some dust that has been deleted. Dust happens!

I've used alien skin plug-in to remove dust from image... i think is valid...

Wonderful shot! Congratulations on being in third place, it is a great shot although it will probably be disqualified because you cloned out the sensor spot. I have said it in a discussion before and I'll say it again here: It should be allowed to clean sensor spots in basic editing.

Very nice shot. My favorite of the three ribbon winners. Unfortunately, you are not allowed to clone out sensor dust, though! Too bad. Still a great shot.

You should have left the dust spot Gipo. Since there is no spot editing allowed under the basic editing rules the photo will probably be disqualified. It's a shame too because you made a wonderful image. In fact, I'm finding lots of really good stuff in your portfolio. No doubt you will have more ribbons very soon. Good luck!

Too bad... I really liked this one. For future reference, stay away from any tools that touch the image when in basic editing.

very surreal image, and i like the fact that i can see the rocks under the surface of the water towards the foreground. 8.

Wow. One of the best of the challenge. Remarkable lighting on the foreground rocks. Good luck!

Absolutely wonderful colors. There is a rock in the moon's reflection that almost looks like an eye. One of my top picks for this challenge.
  Photographer found comment helpful.
06/25/2006 12:14:01 PM
Almost perfect. My eye keeps jumping from the left to right backgraund rocks. Maybe a more vertical shot using only the left side of the background would have been better.

Very interesting image. The horizon is pretty much undetectable. I assume there were some lights behind you since all of the close features are lit. Nice choice for location. Giving it a bump up.

Lovely shot. It feels like a fantasy setting ... like something wonderful is about to happen. Superb reflections. Nice hint of moonlight from above. Neat that I can see the rocks below the water's surface. Well done.

Fabulous shot. The sharp rocks against the calm water make for an incredible image. It's amazing how clear the water is as well. This shot is very cool. My only "criticism" is the greenish color cast that the rocks seem to have.

the white balance on the foreground rocks appears to be different from the rest of the photo - was there a different light source? Nice photo, and I like the border on this

06/23/2006 03:54:00 AM
i note it's your title, and therefore should be the principal subject, but i think your overall composition has suffered a bit from the reflection of the moon... i would really have been tempted to crop out the reflection and (flash lit?) rocks in the bottom third and have more emphasis on the rocks and the lovely lush blues in the background, both of which you have captured very well in a fairytaleesque kind of way. my favourite aspect is that there is no horizon - it's so nice... 6.

It's a great shot. Has had me looking at it for ages.
The way the colours of the water and the sky blend into one another make it look like it's taken in a huge indoor tank - kinda like the one they used to film "Titanic" in - as if the water just drops off in front of a solid backdrop. It also has to do with the quality of the light - the moon seems more like a studio spot light.

06/21/2006 07:08:58 AM
This is pretty cool, however, the bright stones at the bottom are a bit of an attention stealer, if this were an advanced editing challenge I would have darkened them to be in theme with the rocks in the backround but I still really like it as it is, don´t get me wrong. 7 from me.
