I am 100% sure this will NOT score well, don´t think it has enough motion blur or image quality for the voters to react well to it but I spent way too much work on this not to submit it, I still like this shot, was a first time for me doing something like this and I learned a lot from it, several things I see wrong with this image and would have done differently if I shoot this again but that´s what DPC is all about, learning :)

Shot handheld, was going to use a tripod but it was too tall to fit in the trunk of the car I was in when we shot this. This is my friend Ragnars car, a Volvo S60 Sport Turbo, love that car. Well I got Indriði to help out, he borrowed a Grand Cerokee jeep and drove it for me while I sat in the trunk. In that car you can lift up the rear vindow to shoot out of so I didn´t have to risk my life taking this shot, it was still quite scary even though we were only doing about 40 kmph. Anyway, we took a lot of shots, most of them unusable cause of too much motion blur but a couple came out allright thanx to IS. Wish I could have had more motion blurring with a longer exposure time but those didn´t come out well at all so this will have to do.

As per the rules, no motion blurring or blurring of any kind was added to this shot at all. I did darken the sky though, used a high WB to give it that warm tone and burned in parts of the asphalt as well as sharpened after resizing. Removed one sign in the backround too. Oh and used a polarizer filter on the lens to remove the glare from the car and also act as a ND filter allowing me a slightly bigger aperture for more added backround blur and this is lit solely by natural light, shot at about 11:00 pm.

The image has enough blur to create that surreal feel of the road. Nice shot. Congratulations on your 4th place.

Congratulations on an excellent 4th placing. This was one of the entries where the feeling of motion really came across well and as for image quality - it suits the scene perfectly. Again, well done.

It looked just like an advertisement shot. When I looked trough this challenge I even went trough some Volvo brochures to see if it wasn't in there. :) Great shot.

Congratulations :) I had a very good hint this was yours. Has Larus' style written all over it ;) which I do like btw. Though some more motion blur would've been nice I still found it good enough.

I'll quote ya ;)

"don´t think it has enough motion blur or image quality for the voters to react well"

I can understand where you're coming from though, I too underrate or underestimate my work sometimes(maybe most of the time) but this image is oozing with image quality.

Yeah, you're 100% WRONG dude! Congrats on your 4th place! This was one of my high-scorers. It's very accomplished, very compelling, for all its simplicity.

The back drop makes this shot. Looks like an ad in a pamphlet at the dealership. My only suggestion would be to clone out the three orange objects behind the volve. 8

I could see this in a magazine. Love the colours and just enough blur to really feel the movement. The right side of the shot really draws your eye to the car. I would have placed the car lower, but that's just me. Very nice, good job :) 9

I'm sure you'll get this comment a dozen times over....This looks like a shot from a Volvo catalogue. Considering the car has no licence plate I'm wondering if you took this as part of a commercial shoot? Well done.

very professional looking shot, very much like it's straight out of the brochure. it having the model number on the number plate just adds to the overall polished impression (got a mate who works for volvo?) the composition is good in that it gives equal billing to the car and the landscape, though one gets the sneaking suspicion i would like to have the car at a more 3/4 view. and like any good volvo, it's good to see that it has its headlights on, even in broad daylight. a good take on a familiar kind of promotional car shot - 8.

This is very nice. Jeeeez. ..when I look at it, it looks like the car is actually driving towards me. It makes me dizzy. The more I look at it, the more awesome I think it is. Very well done!! Beautiful surroundings help the overall look of the photo so much. 10
