Didn't really mean to shoot these little guys, but almost stepped on them while walking on the beach at lunch taking pictures of the incoming storm and well, here they are. Enjoy them. These are actually the first insects I have ever shot.

I am amazed that you didn't get a higher score. This is one of my favorites for this challenge. I know how dificult it is to get a good shot of insects this small. Not only did you get the Lady Beetles you got , in great detail and good focus the much smaller black beetles.

Contrary to popular belief, they are NOT sitting on poop. It is a rock. I admit it looks kinda like poop, but it is a rock.

I like the composition of this photo. The lines formed by the top of the rock and by the backs of three ladybugs in the foreground lead the eye to the main point of interest, the bug about to take off. A bit more space at the top would have improved the photo.

Looks like it was taken in a terrarium. Whatever they are eating looks disgusting.

Ladybugs are one of my favorites! Each spring, Home Depot sells them in bags of a couple hundred. I always have to buy a bunch of bags so I can set them free.

Nice shot, I'm so curious what they are on. I like the capture of the one ladybug getting ready to take off.

This might be a better photo if the top and right sides were cropped just past the last ladybug to show less of the sands. The colors could be enhanced as well.

Very cool. The ladybug opening it's wings makes the shot.

Mmmm... pooooop! LOL! I had no idea that Ladybugs were such potty mouths!! Or maybe it's just a really, really, really old wiener. I like this photo since I get to see so many different types of ladybugs. It's a LADYBUG PICNIC (Sesame Street).

Awesome capture, the ladybirds (bugs) look so plasticy somehow, I like it.

Focusing on just the top one would have been right on.
