I thought about this old lady who usually waits outside of the church on sundays. She was very kind allowing me to take her picture, and there we were both on the floor trying to get the best out of her, I hope I can take her picture again, I loved the experience.

This was shot using fill flash with a homemade diffuser (the reflection on her eyes, even if it is a bit weird because of the shape I ended up liking it)

I hope I will not be stormed by DNMC nazis, I see plenty of lines here.
Editing was hard, I was trying to have strong impact from her view so I croped the photo in order to have her bright eyes as the main focus point.
Editing included in RAW:
+ Crop
+ Shadows
+ Brightness
+ Contrast
+ Curves
in PS
+ Levels
+ Curves
+ Channel Mixer (B/W)
+ More Levels
+ Brightness and Contrast
+ Heavy Sharpening
+ Noise

I hope I could have used Advanced Editing, I will put a Printable version on DPCPrint that is edited to my full liking.

I am aiming for a 6+ I hope this one gets in top 10 or 20 but perhaps a ribbon? we'll see

A wrenching study that's like a corkscrew into one's heart. Congratulations on your top ten finish with this great display of time woven lines.

This picture suffers from over-sharpening.
Then, your subject's nose looks like it's been blurred.
The tone is great, with good contrast between your shadows and highlights, leaving your image neither under-exposed, nor over-exposed, while conveying mood and drama.
I like the highlights in her eyes too.
Good luck!

Great Photo. I don't know where to begin. It certainly jumps out at you, and the lines of this persons face looks like she earned everyone of them. You really grabbed this subject.

Good idea for this challenge, and I also like the tight square crop that draws the attention to the eyes. Too bad the harsh light, it diminish the impact. Good job anyway ... Good luck!!
