I am requesting permission to use the image of the Persian flaw in a book that I am writing entitled Peace Fibres: Stitching a Soulful World. In it, I enlist fibre work as metaphor and manifestation of harmonious relationship to self, others, and the larger world. I would use this photograph in a chapter on tapestries as integration in which I specifically refer to the multicultural tradition of leaving a flaw. This image would perfectly complement the text.
Peace Fibres will be self published through Integral Press. I anticipate printing in early 2011, with an initial run of 1200.
May I use this image? Please advise of any fees involved. I would, of course, cite you as source.
Thanks for considering my request. I look forward to your response.
Respectfully,
Karen Lohn

Nice color, interesting subjet, but the crop seems either too tight or not tight enough. The cut off corners of the triangle kept pulling my eye off the edge. I 'think' I would have liked a very tight shot of the flaw alone better. But that's just me :) |

too concerned w/ picture to the detriment of texture |

Nice colors, and good texture. It seems a little flat to me. Maybe a lower or different perspective would give it a little more depth. karmat |

A more oblique angle might show the texture better, but maybe not your funny subject... |

not bad, but it needs more saturation and contrast. |

Nice, but could have been a tad sharper. |

good colors, and a good composition. the only problem I have with the photo, is that it's a picture of a picture. shows nice texture, though. |
