 Last second shot (started boiling peas at 10:40pm)! Whoa... I never thought I'd ribbon with it! :-D

I actually thought of the idea last year, and bought Swarovski crystal beads at a craft store around Oct-Nov specifically for this shot. Fairly simple: peas, beads, and my wife wearing my suit and a white glove. ;-) I had a brolly box aimed at the hand and plate, and a bare monolight pointed at the painted background.

Processing: Convert from RAW, crop, levels, curves, punch up the saturation on the peas and dodge the crystal bead highlights, convert to grayscale with Channel Mixer, then colorize to Sepia and History Brush the peas back to color. Punch up the existing vignette and even it out with a burn tool, lightly burn the shadows on the glove for more detail. Resize, USM and submit.

I have penchant for gritty scenes. this is not, but I love it. Had i been a member then a definite 8+.

Subject almost becomes the hand - I would have prefered a little more light on the peas & rocks - they could use just a bit more brilliance.
