Challenge: Camera "Self Portrait" (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Canon PowerShot S2 IS
Location: Sooke, BC

Sooke Harbour House. One hallway has mirrors all along one wall and at the end an opposite doorway has a large mirror set in a handmade wood burl frame. Too bad it's facing another doorway so that I couldn't avoid getting the handle in the shot too.
A delivery man was using the other door so I kept having to stop to hold the door for him and his dolly while trying to keep my tripod out of his way.

flip horizontal, crop.
auto-levels, USM, tiny bit of curves
colour balance to reduce green a bit, noiseware
USM 90% at 6 pixels radius
resize, sfw.

THANK YOU!!! :D I seriously can't believe it... I was thinking I was being optimistic in hoping for the top ten! I'm seriously honoured to be among such incredible company :D
And a biggg thank you to Becky-Lee for reminding me about this spot to shoot. Love you, sweetie!

p.s. My setup;

Holy crap - this got right by me without even-so-much-as a smart ass comment! And now that I have a yellow ribbon for the second camera portrait challenge, I somehow feel related to you. :)

A VERY late CONGRATS!!! and quite the setup! Smokeless smoke & mirrors. :)

This was a really smart idea, and well-executed. It's interesting how well this shot fits in with the other challenge entries on your profile page - repetitive patterns are repeating on you ;-) Thanks for explaining the set-up too, that was interesting to read. Congrats!'

Love it. There is a sensation that the camera is falling down or flying about like one of those Star wars arial machines. Congratulations on your Yellow.

Congratulations, you have MET-THE-CHALLENGE, fear is not a factor. In 1st place the camera is not in the limelight or the main subject. Although, maybe a girl's leg covering the doorknob could've gotten this one to 1st.

The burled wood add the luxury and elegance of a Rolls Royce dashboard.

The handle could represent the way to open the door to a whole new universe from the veiwpoint of the camera. :)

Very Cool pic - Congrats on the Ribbon!!

Hmmmmm - ribbon winners all CANON...what's the ratio of Canon to Nikon owners here - 4 to 1???
Just kidding - Great Shot deserving of 1st place IMO..

Actually that door handle makes the picture!

What amazing textures, but the door really holds the key to the potential to open infinite possibilities.

sweet!

Very cool how you got the upward repeating reflection. Lighting is good. Only question is about the door handle on the right side. What's with that?

Still, I voted it a 9. Good job!

I like this shot. It is very creative. I don't know if too many others will because it is abstract and different. But it is a winner in my eyes. The title fits perfectly.
