This was one of my top picks in the challenge. I love the contrast of the waves and the colors in the small ripples. I too, am surprised this one didn't make the top 10.

If we ran this challenge over and over each week it wouldn't surprise me if this scored between 7.2 and 5.2. I'm constantly amazed why some photos do so well and others so poorly and then seemingly reverse order when similar photos are taken in similar challenges. I guess it's like surfing. You gotta hit that wave at the right time and place except here the wave is invisible.

Very soothing, subjectless image. The wave lines are a nice element and provide structure to your photo. Personally, I'm not too crazy about the colors (the gold looks unnatural - although it could be natural, hmmmm). Anyway, well done overall. Good luck in the challenge.
