Congrats on the Brownie award.

The motion blur looks neat on the waves, but I'd have preferred the rope to be in sharp focus.

You must have intended for this to be oof, but for me it doesn't do much as an image. I think that in order to show motion, you need to have at least one aspect of the image in focus.

Hard to look at. Nothing in focus
08/28/2006 01:37:52 PM
i got dizzy looking at this picture, there is absolutely no focus
08/27/2006 09:03:59 PM
A faster shutter speed would help this photo and reduce the blur
08/27/2006 08:00:27 PM
fuzzy

Way way way too blurred and out of focus. Also, the composition is not good, with the subject just being places in the center of the shot this way. You really need to concentrate on your technique to eliminate camera shake as much as possible.

Hopefully this is the same situation I had once, where I took a shot and edited it in a bad editor....
08/26/2006 09:43:23 AM
This would have been really good if you had used a tripod or faster shutter speed.
08/25/2006 08:47:24 PM
Hmmm, intersting idea, but I'm afraid it's a tad blurry....
08/25/2006 08:47:02 PM
Not much focus here..Maybe a tripod would of helped you out.

The colours are interesting in this, but when there's action in a shot (ie the waves) it more often works better if the subject isn't centered. Maybe cropping between the two blocks would help? And in lower light situations if you don't have a tripod see if there's anything handy to make a support with. I like the basic shot and I hope my suggestions help :)

I would like this better if it was more n focus.
08/25/2006 09:58:05 AM
I would have like to see it much more in focus...
08/25/2006 09:38:05 AM
I liked the idea and can see what you were going for but it is too out of focus for my taste.
08/24/2006 07:04:30 PM
a lot of camera shake - I can see the rope but you've got to hold the camera still.
08/24/2006 06:25:44 PM
Very blury. hard to see detail of rope.
08/23/2006 08:16:39 PM
Here's 5 seconds of my life I won't get back, voting on some out of focus piece of flotsam. Enjoy the Brown.
08/23/2006 08:09:15 PM
Some will say,,"out of focus",, I will say, artistict and creative. Lke it!
08/23/2006 07:41:03 PM
You should utilize the full size available. A slower shutter speed on a tripod would have left your rope focused with no motion blur, but would have put your water soft. Good concept!
08/23/2006 03:02:30 PM
very blurry ... sorry
08/23/2006 02:30:10 PM
I don't like giving bad comments, but this is not a good picture. It's blurry and out of focus. You should try with a faster shutter speed and if you don't have enough light, then using the flash might help. I'll give you some points because at least you did take a picture of ropes.
08/23/2006 01:39:10 PM
This is just too blurry. The camera must have shook as you took it.
08/23/2006 10:16:46 AM
Extremely blurred.
08/23/2006 08:37:41 AM
Total blur..is that what you were going for? It hurts my eyes.
08/23/2006 05:42:11 AM
Looks an interesting shot bu the focus seems way off
08/23/2006 04:28:21 AM
Really need some focus here IMHO, nice idea but focusing on the rope with a slower shutter speed would blur the water but leave the rope in focus?
08/23/2006 01:01:43 AM
Too much blur on this one.
08/23/2006 12:38:31 AM
Looks interesting, but it's too out of focus to see what's there.
