#201

Being and Nothingness, by Jean-Paul Sartre
-----

I hauled my extremely large polish bottom to the top of Silver Mountain, I was looking for a good sunset to photo. When I got to the top it was obvious west was not a photographic option. So I followed the North Country Trail until westish became an option. Luckily it wasn't too far, unluckily it was down. Unlucky, that is, because I had to go back up to get back down to the car. And it was hot. Sweat like a polack hot.

Cleaning tip of the day (courtesy TIPical Mary Ellen:

Dust silk flowers by placing them in a laundry bag and tossing the bag into the clothes dryer on the no-heat cycle.

I didn't vote on this challenge, didn't even look at these, but I wish I had. Most people would have moved the wood. Too bad for them. You picked the perfect spot at usual. You really need to lend me some of your patience. Excellent image, excellent timing, excellent editing, excellent eye...is that enough? ;) Excellent title too, by the way. :)

This is a very soothing image. Not sure I'm fond of the colorcast, but it's clean, sharp, and well exposed. Good use of foreground and middleground focal points. Best of luck to you in the challenge.

beautiful tones...but is the stick not a subject? and it's a shame the horizon chops the image in two
  Photographer found comment helpful.
08/28/2006 11:16:52 PM
The lighting is very cool and the tobacco filter(?) creates a nice look. I'm not sure about the through the middle framing though, a vertical element tying the two together might help. But that's just my opinion on an overall very good photograph. Good luck!

Subject-ful (the spot-lit foreground with branch) or subjectless. Or several subjects, therefore none. You overpower my dilemma with a simply lovely photo. 1 of my 4 top picks. 9.
