Famous scene of Charlie "dancing" with two rolls and forks. Did not have rolls handy, so had to use pieces of french bread instead.

I know, I know, I don't quite look like Charlie Chaplin, but I did my best with readily available resources... :)

post challenge:
so close! This is my 4th 4th :)

apparently (at least, according to a few comments), I do look like Charlie Chaplin, who knew?

and yes, I noticed my typo in the movie title (should've been "The Gold Rush", of course) just when the voting started, it was too late to change.I guess I was in a rush myself :)
Surprizingly, only two people pointed out my mistake...

Adrian, thanks for the nice comment! You are exactly right - I do look more like middle-aged Einstein here than Charlie Chaplin. In fact this should not be entirely surprising to me since my dad (who incidentally is a physicist as well) looks a lot like Einstein in his later years.

Lev - I got here from your comments from another shot, and think you have great skill as a photographer. Most impressive work on this site. Do you do photography professionally? I think you should. You have a lot of Photogrphic flair, and it's lovely photographs with excellent control and the right levels in all the shots I have seen of yours

I will keep an eye on your work - I am sure I will learn a lot

I like this shot, and remember the scene from the film - I think you look more like Albert Einstein than Chaplin, but the idea is definately a good one.

All the best for your future

Very nice lighting and tones. The plate should not be black? and there should be plates and glasses to the left and right. From what I remember of the original scene, it was very tight at the table. He was acting this scene very compactly, with both elbows tucked in; the model (you?) is too comfortable in this picture. Perhaps I don't remember the original well. :) But what a great choice for the challenge!

Easily the best image in the challenge. I love everything about this image, the light, the expression and most important of all, how faithful the image seems to the original. Top marks, this has ribbon all over it in my opinion!

Very nice representation from one of my favorite movies, though the title is just The Gold Rush. If I could have photographed it this well, my favorite bit was when they ate the shoe -- Charlie wrapping the shoelaces around his fork like spaghetti ... that shoe was actually fabricated out of licorice.

My mom knew Charlie Chaplin : )

The lighting (even with some slightly hot spots on the face and hand), focus, composition and even the model on this shot are absolutely wonderful. This has a great feel and is worthy of a ribbon. Bumping up to my top pick. 10

I used to watch Charlie Chaplin movies with my Grandfather. You have a wonderful photo here that shows the sadness in a man trying to be funny. The role playing is right on the money! The black and white work is perfect!

Another 10! Is Charlie Chaplin still alive? This shot captured the true mood of the CC movies. The lighting is superb. Sweet melancholy...Magic! This smells like 'blue'!

great study...I am not comfortable with the composition...perhaps either a square crop or a rule of thirds deal would have been better...the head is too central for me...that might only be me...but a great image nonetheless...well done 8
