Simple, yet very effective. Very well executed too.

Awesome. This is my favorite of the challenge so far. Great idea and even better execution. Throwing a little (very little) more light on the typewriter so some of its detail is brought into the shot would be the only idea I could offer. This is a wonderful photo.

Great. This is different. I like the different typos. pretty pathetic, one has time to read them. lol

Classic scene, awesome picture.

A slightly different slant to the other "shining" entries. I like it, well done!
08/31/2006 04:29:42 PM
perfeect, and I feel like the way the lighting is set up that this could be right from the film.

Good use of shallow depth of field here, and the dark foreground really adds to the feeling of tension in the shot.

Excellent idea...excellent execution

I had the same idea, but didn't do it. As far as yours goes, my first thought was that your white balance could have used some tweaking, but the more I look at it, I think the way you have it gives the photo a better feel.

Really like the DOP...were the spelling mistakes intentional? 9

Simple, yet one of my favorites from the numerous "The Shining" entries--one of my favorite movies. It would've been cool if you could've caught the typewriter mid-stroke, mid-sentence, like an action shot. Still, this was my favorite scene from the whole movie and I think you recreated the creepiness.

I'm giving you extra points just because you still have a working typewriter! Nice image, really brings back the movie to me. I love the DOF in this photo.

Hmmm... I love this shot.. impactful and effective... nice colours. Another thing about it is the texture of the paper is sharp. Good effort.. 9 for me..
08/30/2006 10:37:08 AM
Good variation on the Shining theme.

Great shot. The DOF works perfectly and I love the sepia tone. Gives it the eerie feeling. It would be neat to see this same shot while you were typing the sentence. Just to see what effect it would have had on the seen.

a nice composition, good props and lighting

I guess people have only seen one movie. Nice choice in going with a different scene of that movie.
