Here's an attempt at cross processing, thanks to the link provided earlier. It also has a texture applied. The tail belongs to Emma who happened to wander through. I'm sitting on the floor in my kitchen; natural light from two windows - one in front, one to my left.

Classically "attractive" people have very symmetrical facial structures. I definitely do NOT have a symmetrical face - this side happens to be the better half. :-)

And by request, here's the link to an excellent tutorial on cross processing:

I love the composition and I do like the cross processing tones -- they bring out the color of your eye.

Very cool! I like the light and processing very much, and I love that the photo includes the tail of a cat "who happened to wander through" while you were taking the picture. Random elements can add so much to a photo, don't you think?

I'm back to look again. I STILL love the curve of the cat's tail over your shoulder. :)

I just love this, have visited it several times while lurking in the SP thread - your processing on this is something I wish I could do. Love the crop, composition, everything about it.

Wow--- I missed this one along the way. GREAT job on this, Deb! ...and you can always clone and flip half your face to achieve perfect symmetry. :)

Lovely..
I like the harsh mood of this photo.. The bluish hue added on to that effect..
Great control and post-processing technique.

This is excellent! - I love these colours... Thanks for posting the link to the tutorial, I've spent hours in PS trying to get this type of surreal effect.

The cat's tail adds a nice touch.

I love all the curves in this. They really work well together - your hair, your shoulder, and the cat's tail.

I think I like the cropped version better. I like the editing. You are doing great. And to think you thought about quitting.

this is so great Deb, you really outdid yourself on this one. Just a beautiful shot, the repeating pattern of your shoulder and the tail really make this shot along with the crop of you on the side, real high art. just amazing work.

This is just beautiful. Isn't this just fascinatingly beautiful. Something really disturbing about it, heightened by the colour and the blended layer. Don says it best: "...the way you and the cat are both being fragmented, both threatening to dissolve into a composition..."

But both reflect each other and keep the composition together, your shoulder and the cat's tail binding the image together with an uneasy tension.

Loc Ness Kitty!

Love the processing on this. You could make this into a mural and superimpose it on a wall in new york. That's be sweet.

Very cool shot. The colors and textures work great. And the cat tail make for an interesting balance to your arm and shoulder - almost like a yin-yang thing goin on. You alone would not have had the same impact.

No one has a symmetrical face. A symmetrical face would look creepy, androidal. This is such a fascinating composition that I worry all that processing distracts from it. But that doesn't mean it's not cool processing. It is. It just seems to distract from the compositional surprise of the cat's tail. I tend to think about the heart of a picture, the "so what" factor. For me, the "so what" of this picture is the way you and the cat are both being fragmented, both threatening to dissolve into a composition. The coloring and processing both enhance that effect... so what am I complaining about? Good picture! Don't mind me.

I like the straightness of your posture, mixed with the curve of Emma's tail. Nice acidic tones. The grunge of the grain gives it another element of interest. I like that half of your face too! ;~D

Great cross processing. And symmetrical is boring. As you can tell from my SPs, my face isn't symmetrical either, but it has character (don't know if that's good or bad). And you did a great job on the whole shot.

Excellent job on the processing. I'm glad you made use of the cross processing link I posted because you've really done justice to it here. The texture you added gives the photo an almost canvasy look to it. I especially like your choice of crop and the face is very sharp. Great work!
