This is an excellent capture tom. To get the seagull just at that moment in flight was great. Nice detail in the feathers as well.

The emotion of it is just phenomenal....

I really like this one - black and white works well, and the image is very crisp. The left wing seems to have a few artifacts (around the upper feathers), and it is a pity the right wing extends out of the shot, but all in all this is lovely.

Great detail. Good job making the subject stand out from similarly-toned background.

Very nicely focused.

Normally the fact that part of the wing didn't make the shot would bug me a little, but not this time. This is a great picture all around. Good job!

A sheer b and w delight, despite the cut-off wing, which does feel a lil odd in such a wonderful capture... ?

Very nice. The main subject is clear with the background clouds sligly out of focus. Excellent!!

kind of looks like the bird is hanging from strings
that wingtip being unclipped ( no pun intended ) would make it for me

Nice use of thirds. Good focus. Looks a little oversharpened - not too keen on the bright outlines of some parts. I like the B&W here - good choice. Good luck.

Great contrast helps to bring out the beautiful feathers in the bird. Love the slight blur in the wings helps to show motion and the sense of flight. The depth of field helps bring out the bird from the sky in the backgorund. Great fluffy clouds too.

Neat shot...wing clipped a little

Nice greys. Would prefer it if we could see all of that other wing though.

oohhh I love it, I just seen a similar photo, but this one doesn't suffer the same shortcoming though I would love to see the whole of the creature in its entirety, I am left wanting a wee for the rest of the form that is sadly absent stunning nonetheless, especially in the regards I am left in want so deeply after looking at what you captured, wonderfully done in all other regards, and maybe that was the intent, maybe if titled as such it would be "perfect" well in my mind it is, so that should be enough I would hope to let you know you have a wonderfully done image herecaptured in much pectacular and emotive glory....
lovely,
sincerely,

Wow! Even with the wing clipped off at the top, you have captured an image that is powerful. The grey of the bird with the grey of the sky make a great pairing. 10 -danny

Must have been a problem deciding how to crop this. I really like the white to black in this.

Sharpest gull so far.

Your focus on this shot is near perfect, but I am not sure I agree with the black and white. The gray skies make the scene look drab in my opinion. Of course I realize it could have just been a gray day and not necessarily intended for black and white. 7 for artistry.

nice capture, it's just a little dull in my opinion. I would like to see this perhaps lighter and more contrasty. I'm also not sure that being purely black and white really helps this image any. Shame you didn't get his other wing in too.
Good Luck, Todd. 6

something agelic about her - she's lovely but the image and the mood it evokes are outstanding - gorgeous 10

Why didn't you give this a title? It is the only reason I'm not giving you a full 10 for it. A title does a lot for a photo. The photo itself is great, a very good capture and to present it in B & W was a good choice - 9.

Great shot, It would be bett though it the wing was not cut off on top, even so, still a wonderful capture.

the almost dreamlike quality of the feathers set off by the black feet, eyes, and wingtips are very nice--of course it would have been nice to see all of the other wing as well but you can't have everything 8

Very nice capture. I'd have liked a little more contrast with the background, but that's being overly picky. Good detail on the bird. Congrats on a really nice shot. 9 Rob the Swash

Just the chop on the left wing....that is the only think I'm not crazy for. I love the action you captured. Your focus is very nice.

Nice Laughing Gull. I especially like the cloudy rainy sky as a complement to the gull.

This is a great capture, too bad did n't get wing in, not that it matters, is still really sharp, close and has great lighting and tones. After spending many hours this week trying for a good shot of a flying bird I know how hard it is!!
