Taken at a Competitive Trail Ride in Colorado. The morning started off as a drizzle and changed to snow. Riders had stopped at a mandantory vet check and were preparing to continue on the ride. Lovely to photograph in.

Crop/rotate, some hue/sat, some levels, guassian blur on foliage, USM, resize for DPC

Thank you all for the great comments! They are very much appreciated!

This is a beautiful image. 6.5 and 39th is a very decent finish, but I had expected it to do quite a bit better. The light is haunting, the whole image is so painterly... Well done!

Great shot. Excellent colors and detail. I would be interested in seeing the original as I feel the editing on this one is brilliant. My only peeves are the pink tassles and the red vests. Removed or changed those a bit and you could think it was from a bygone era. Very nice work overall. Bumping up.

Is this really snow? I like the framework created by the trees, but I think that the two individuals detract from the overall effect.

what a special shot
would have removing the numbers from the red shirts been even better?
well done

I feel like there are two photographs here, one would be in close on the horses and riders with the snow giving some texture. Second, the contrast in the autumnal colours in the trees with the snow. But I'm afraid for me the two do not work together.

Wow. Wow. Double WOW! :D Very nice capture here. Beautiful scene and the leafs changing color add great impact. Kept the USM in check, thankfully. Congratulations on getting a wonderful photo here.

Foreground trees pull most of the attention leaving the subjects un-noticed or dominated by the foreground.

Oooo...this is very cool - looks like it's straight out of "Cold Mountain" (I think that was the name of the movie anyway!). I love how the snow looks against the fall colors. 8

This is fabulous and an instant favorite!!
The snow along with the colors still in the leaves is fantastic.
This I could see on a Jigsaw Puzzle box cover.

Excellent...the beautiful colors of the aspens and the magic created with the falling snow, wow! If only the pink ribbons and the red vests weren't there, then this would then have a very historical era feel to it as well. Great photo!

This is so awesome. I hope you explained what exactly that person and those horses were doing there. I'd love to know the story behind this photo. I love the mood of both winter and autumn. I think I need to add this one to my favorites. I like it more the more I look at it :) 10

An interesting one this. Looks like an oil painting almost. The effect is very eyecatching. the downside would be the two odd red lines, that look like some kind of graphical oddity that has crept in to the photo.

Pretty perfect except for the stupid penneys. Like you had any control over that. The sense of being part of the scene is stupendous. All that color and the textures of the birch bark, so cool.
