i was taking pictures of my daughter surfing at the san clemente pier and this shot caught my eye in between sets.

This image could be sited as a classic example of high contrast imagery in a textbook. I'd be very proud to do so well.

Great shot. The editing really makes it even more. Bumpin gup to a 9 - my top choice for the challenge.

too contrasty IMO. high contrast should be more than pure black and pure white.

a great image for such extreme b/w. We can clearly see everything except for the main thing: the ocean... which is so big we don't need to see it, simply because we are so sure that it's there. This may be the best execution of the challenge. Not sure about the border, though... 9
