 Here is Buddy, my pet budgie, and his friend, one of my carved wooden blue wren. He decided while he was out of his cage, he would perch on top of one of my blue wrens heads.
I quickly got my camera out, and started shooting him, and I am really pleased with this one.

By the way, the little blue wren, is not real, and no animal was harmed in any way, re this photo.....

we had a little budgie till a couple of years ago.. he was the best pet ever and so entertaining .. i didnt have an slr when we had him but i would'v taken a whole heap of him if i had .. as it is i took quite a few !! .. this is an excellent photograph shez .. love the tones and his very budgie look .. he has particularly large feet eh ? .. that's so funny his perch !!! ...

I agree; even better yet. I love Buddy's perch. It's funny and made me LOL. Further proof that "Birds of a feather..." well, you know... Great shot!

good thing you told us the wren is WOODEN, otherwise I'd think (and still do even tho I know the little birdie is wooden) that those talons must hurt! lol... Are there black lines running left to right on background? or is my laptop monitor WAY screwed up? LOVE LOVE LOVE the budgie :-)

I had two budgies for around 13 years in total (two for eight years and then one of them died and me and the surviving girl went on to be two gals together for 5 more years after that) and they are fantastic pets.

Very vibrant blue colours as well :)

Definately no pasting, just a little burning to darken the background..... What you see, is exactly what I photographed.

Nice little shot - I was actually a little worried when I saw the thumbnail, but I guess a wooden wren can handle it. You've cropped expertly (guess you're getting good at it by now :)).

The colors are wonderful and the setup is really fun. The birds look a little like they were pasted into that background to me, especially the dark areas around the edges of them. Processing artifact?
