decalcomania |d??kalk??m?n??|
noun
the process of transferring designs from prepared paper on to glass or porcelain. • a technique used by some surrealist artists that involves pressing paint between sheets of paper.

ORIGIN mid 19th cent.: from French décalcomanie, from décalquer ‘transfer a tracing’ + -manie ‘-mania’ (with reference to the enthusiasm for the process in the 1860s).

This is a tribute to the artist René Magritte, he was a Belgian surrealist artist and I think that work he best known for is The Son of man, you know the english gentleman standing and got a green apple hoovering in his face.

I love the idea, but it needs more work on the presentation - how about a 7!!! :O_O:

I'm glad this was appreciated - even if it did not win a ribbon. Nice work which inspires as well as entertains. Your appreciation of painting is an important part of the subject of photography, IMO.

Very interesting. Here I would have explored moving the subject over to eliminate the gap and then cropped it left right at the end of the hat. The concept is good and the overall feel is great. Bumping up.

the line coming down leaving that little negative space by the neck is very unfortunate - cool idea

intersting composition and duo-tones. the mix of both creates a great tension in the shot. One of my ribbon picks.

I've come back to this several times. It's really interesting. Avant garde. I sense that the subject is slightly less tack sharp than I'd like. The clever imaginative take is great though. 7

Nice shot and shows a lot of creativity. But where is the essence of the person in this shot?
