Thanks to everyone who voted, commented and left suggestions. Thanks especially to my brother Steve (pointandshoot), and my sister Marla (2mccs) for their patience in teaching me nearly everything I know about photography. This new hobby is ten times the fun because I get to share it with these two geniuses :)

The duck, my husband and I hiked into this lake for the shot. My "faceless portrait" shot was also taken here. Sorry Marc...outscored by a duck :) And, because I need to clear my guilty conscience, the lake is actually called Birch Lake. Poetic license?

I thought this deserved to win. The yellow duck stands out nicely against all the blue.

A little less lake in the set-up would have given the duck a bigger position...still a fine shot.

Nice shot and idea, I feel the ducky shouldve been lit a little better to really stand out. Maybe a reflector?

Beautiful landscape, colors, composition. low angle. Wonderful, and couldn't be better, except for maybe a little fill light on the duck.

Hmmm, is that the goose lake in the sierras?
Nevermind, it's a lovely shot. No matter which goose lake it is.

So, that's pretty much the most awesome rubber duck I've ever seen. Beautiful reflections off of the pond surface! Seems like it was the perfect day for photography!

Excellent...

I'll wager you've got a ribbon here. My shot which I think was pretty decent and elaborate is getting a 4. And you're getting my highest vote so far. Nice work.

Good clarity, the crystal clear water and sky reflection is captured excellently. Perhaps a bit of dodge/burn on the sky would improve.
